Hi, it's Alice again...

Many of you know me as a family and wedding photographer. So why boudoir photography? I initially started this for myself - to see myself in a different light. In turn, I hope I can do the same for you. 

A little about me: I grew up in Vietnam and from what I remember from my childhood, I could never fit in with the Asian beauty standards. Women had to be feminine, slim, and pale-skinned. I was always a bit on the chubby side, I didn't have straight hair, my skin tone is a shade darker than most of my classmates, and all the clothing in Asian sizes barely fit me. The aunties would make jokes about my weight, my body size, my rather larger shoulder, and how I should watch what I eat. I was, for the longest time, excluded from what is considered "beautiful" in my country. I have come a long way from being that little girl who was ashamed of her body, and boudoir photography really helped me celebrate that progress. But that is for another story. Let's get back to YOU! 

My vision for my boudoir photography revolves around normalizing and supporting the person that you are. We ALL struggle with things we don't like about ourselves. In fact, when I did my very own boudoir session, the first thing I noticed when I saw my photos was the hyperpigmentation spots all over my body (my neck, my armpit, etc.) and how big the stretch marks were on my breasts and thighs... But once I stepped out of THAT NARRATIVE and looked at the photos as a whole, I began to see myself from a different angle, in a different light. I truly did feel happy and proud of my body, proud of who I am, "hey... I don't look that bad!" - I remembered patting myself on the back - "I do have some curves!". 

Truth is: we ALL grapple with insecurities about our bodies, and in fact, many of us are just too hard on ourselves. But I hope you will let me show you how beautiful and powerful you truly are, AS IS. 

Through our session, I hope you get to see yourself in a different light. And if I can just make you feel somewhat differently about yourself - to love yourself a tiny bit more, to be a bit more confident in your own skin, and to be proud of the body you are in - that would mean the world to me.
